The Authenticus system, in addition to supporting the management and monitoring of the scientific activity of Portuguese institutions, has also served as a data source for various academic studies and research projects.

This page brings together articles, technical reports, and theses that use the data or the Authenticus system itself as an object of study. These works explore topics such as the evaluation of scientific publications, the analysis of collaboration networks, the impact of research, and the development of new bibliometric methodologies.

Since 2020, the Planning and Continuous Improvement Unit of the University of Porto (NPMC-UP) has been collaborating with the Authenticus team in the production of an annual Technical Report. In this process, the publication records of the University of Porto for the year under analysis are imported into Authenticus, where a verification and validation process of institutional affiliations is carried out for new records — that is, for those indexed during the year in question.

The results of these research efforts contribute not only to a better understanding of the national scientific ecosystem, but also to the continuous development of the Authenticus system, through the integration of new ideas, models, and tools developed within the academic context.
